Recipe: Raspberry Waffle Sauce

Processed with VSCOcam

Today during our weekend waffle making tradition I whipped up some of our favourite raspberry sauce.  While I was making it I decided that I should share my super easy Raspberry Sauce Recipe with the rest of you.  It is only a few quick ingredients, some constant stirring and then you are done.  With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it is the perfect holiday coloured topping to add to your Valentine’s Day breakfast ideas in a flash.

Ingredients:

1-2 cups frozen raspberries
1/2 cup of water
1/8 cup of white sugar
2 tablespoons of cornstarch mixed with 1/2 cup of cold water

Step One: Combine raspberries, your first half cup and sugar of water into a sauce pan, stir and cook over medium heat.
Step Two: While above heats, mix together the next half cup of cold water (emphasis on cold) and stir in 2 tablespoons of cornstarch until dissolved completely.
Step Three: Add above mixture and stir constantly, turn heat to a med-high level and bring to a boil
Step Four: Immediately after boil turn heat to low, continue stirring frequently until sauce lowers from boiling temperature.

Continue to keep sauce on low until waffles are ready to eat.  Sauce best served warm/hot. Enjoy.
